"According to The Sun newspaper, after protracted price negotiations, Qatar's Sheikh Jasim, from a Qatari consortium, is set to purchase the English Premier League club Manchester United for approximately $7.6 billion. Previously, the Qatari consortium had engaged in a long-standing competition with Britain's richest person, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos Group, but Qatar is reportedly ready to declare victory.
The Sun reports that the ""official announcement date has been set and could be revealed as early as next month."" Currently, the Qatari investment team is conducting due diligence, and all details are expected to be finalized by October. According to earlier reports, the Qatari consortium will have 100% ownership of Manchester United.
Many Manchester United fans have been anticipating the sale of the club to Qatar. It is said that Qatar has committed to investing significant funds in the infrastructure around the club, including upgrading the iconic Old Trafford stadium.
