On December 23, according to Bloomberg, trading platform Yellow Card Financial Inc. plans to "immediately" apply for a license after the Central Bank of Nigeria lifted the cryptocurrency ban in 2021. Yellow Card is a company with a focus on Africa, operating in Nigeria and at least 15 other countries on the continent. The company has initiated discussions with the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission to operate a cryptocurrency trading platform following the commission's invitation for digital asset issuers, custodians, and trading platforms to apply for licenses.
