Sunday saw the International Cricket Council (ICC) reject Usman Khawaja's most recent attempt to draw attention to the Gaza crisis by Australia's opening batsman. Khawaja, ahead of Australia's practice session on Sunday at the MCG ahead of the Boxing Day match against Pakistan, requested via an application to have an image of a dove and an olive branch displayed on his bat and shoes. Before having the logo on his bat and shoes at the MCG, Khawaja reportedly checked with Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers' Association. He was given the go-ahead, but his application to the ICC to do the same during the second Test against Pakistan, which starts on Tuesday, was rejected, according to a report in ESPNCricinfo.
