Many people believe that playing poker is purely a matter of luck—either you win with good luck or lose with bad luck—and that there is no skill involved. However, it cannot be denied that there are individuals in the gambling world who are "consistent winners." They don't cheat, and their luck might not be exceptional elsewhere, but they consistently make money. What is the secret to their ability to grasp "good luck"?

Sometimes we observe players who, after a few losses, change their playing style. For instance, someone who usually plays conservatively suddenly becomes more aggressive, or a cautious player becomes more carefree. These are methods of "changing one's luck." Some players, when feeling unlucky, promptly leave the game to minimize losses and ensure long-term income. Others request a change of position, and after changing positions, their luck indeed seems to turn around. Is it possible that changing positions can alter luck? In reality, this has nothing to do with so-called "luck" but is a solid technical strategy. The choice of "position" plays a crucial role in your wins and losses, even more so than many skills.

Before entering a game, it's crucial to observe your fellow players, noting their styles and whether they are skilled or inexperienced. If you aim to win, engaging with a skilled player may not be the best choice. Is the player extremely cautious, or do they play more casually? Sitting under a player who loves to slow-play can be uncomfortable because deciding whether to follow becomes a challenging decision when your cards aren't strong. On the contrary, if you're in the player's upper position, you'll feel more at ease since you can base your decision on whether others choose to follow. If your upper-position player is very cautious, decision-making becomes easier, and the probability of winning increases.

Therefore, position is crucial. If you've been losing consistently and good luck seems elusive, consider whether your position is affecting your gambling fortune. Changing your position might just bring the good luck you've been seeking.
