"On August 26th, Ethereum Foundation engineer Barnabas Busa tweeted that the genesis file for the Holesky public testnet has been generated and merged into the main branch of the Holesky repository on GitHub. The Holesky public testnet is set to launch on September 15th, 2023 at 22:00 Beijing time, with a genesis block featuring 1,460,000 validating nodes, making it the largest public network to date.
During the genesis phase, the Ethereum Foundation will allocate over 2 billion hETH. Faucet and RPC endpoints will be launched shortly after the genesis event, distributing additional hETH for deposits. The developers have worked to minimize the size of the genesis state, though it still reaches 197MB." |
