I won't persuade him (Buffett) to invest in cryptocurrencies. I feel that not everyone necessarily needs to invest in cryptocurrencies. My mom doesn't use the internet much, but that's not a problem. The internet doesn't matter, and my mom is fine. Basically, I think this is a free world. We don't need to convince everyone to use cryptocurrencies; we just need to let those who want to use them use them.
I recently came across a great book; Buffett has many timeless investment arguments that still apply to cryptocurrencies today. It's just that he personally isn't interested in cryptocurrencies.
Zhao Changpeng believes that they both have similar investment strategies. "Buffett likes to hold a small amount of stocks he knows very well and doesn't want to spread his attention to hundreds of stocks. This is very similar to my personal mindset; I only hold Binance Coin and Bitcoin, not diversified investments in various cryptocurrencies." He added:
Buffett is in a different stage of life. I think his knowledge, ideas, and guidance are valuable to the world. He is very successful, and I respect him. But we don't need to pull him into the cryptocurrency field. He was still using a flip phone two years ago. I am more concerned that if he uses cryptocurrencies, he may not have the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure the security of his cryptocurrency assets.
Zhao Changpeng appreciates Buffett's investment insight, but his attitude is quite different when it comes to another billionaire. Referring to a confrontation with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, he said: "I don't mean to be too impolite on Twitter... but he questions my honesty in his tweets. |
