Often, when we are busy with our own lives, careers, and families, we overlook the presence of our parents by our side. When we finally realize the importance of taking better care of them, it might already be too late.
In our childhood, we relied on our parents, and every time we stumbled, they were there to help us back up. They were like sturdy lighthouses illuminating the path ahead for us. However, as time passes, when we grow into adults and start pursuing our own dreams and lives, the presence of our parents gradually fades. Many people may say, "I'll take good care of my parents when I have money," or "I'm too busy now; I'll spend time with them when I have the time." But life doesn't wait, and by the time we truly have the time and financial means, our parents may already be elderly, and their health may no longer be robust.
I once had a friend whose father worked away from home and rarely returned. Every phone call was a stolen moment in his busy schedule. Until one day, he learned that his father was seriously ill, and feelings of guilt and regret overwhelmed him. He told me, "If I had known earlier and returned home to be with him, maybe the situation would be different."
So, why wait until it's too late to appreciate them? Why not give them more care and companionship while they are still with us?
In reality, showing filial piety to parents doesn't require elaborate gestures. A simple phone call, a smile, or even a hug can make them feel our care and love. The family is the fundamental unit of society, and parents are the foundation of the home. Only when we genuinely cherish and respect them can we truly experience the warmth and happiness of family.
In conclusion, no matter where we are or how busy life gets, let's not forget the parents who silently sacrifice and selflessly give. In our limited time, let's offer them love and care because that deep emotion is something irreplaceable and immeasurable by anything else. |
