At the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, the day's cricket match was truly remarkable. India bowled South Africa out for 55, the lowest total ever by an opposition against India in a Test innings, after Mohammed Siraj bowled an outstanding spell that ended with figures of 6 wickets for 15 runs in his 9 overs. South Africa had won the toss and chosen to bat first. Even so, India was unable to seize the initiative and ended up leading by 98 runs despite losing their final six wickets for a mere 0 runs, a record in and of itself.
