Last season, Leicester City faced relegation to the Championship in the final round of the Premier League. Despite the nostalgia for the team that won the title just a few years ago, relegation seemed inevitable. Yet, in the football world, such occurrences are not uncommon. For individuals, a life with both ups and downs may be considered complete, and perhaps the same holds true for a football club.
However, after 26 rounds in the Championship this season, Leicester City currently holds a 10-point lead over second-placed Ipswich. This commanding position makes it seem like Leicester City's promotion to the Premier League next season is a done deal. Beyond the points advantage, their goal difference is the best in the Championship. With veteran Vardy still in top form and the addition of new talent like Mavididi, their frontline is also competitive in the Premier League.
In fact, not only promotion but winning the Championship this season appears destined for Leicester City. Although the league is only halfway through, bookmakers are already offering very low odds for Leicester City to win the title. The gap with second-placed Ipswich is substantial, practically securing the title for Leicester City in advance. So, in the next season, Leicester City fans can once again witness Vardy in action on the Premier League stage. Can the 37-year-old veteran still deliver? Let's wait and see! |
