A $1.17 million Bitcoin transaction, 27 BTC mysteriously transferred to Satoshi's wallet.
In the early hours of a few days ago, an unidentified holder made a purchase on Binance, acquiring 27 Bitcoins with a total value of $1.17 million. What caught attention was that this transaction was not ordinary—it promptly sent all these Bitcoins to the early wallet address of Satoshi Nakamoto, sparking immediate interest in the cryptocurrency community. Is Satoshi Nakamoto waking up?
The receiving address is marked as "Satoshi 1," the wallet used by Satoshi Nakamoto to receive the 50 BTC block reward for the Genesis Block on January 4, 2009. Currently, this wallet holds 99.676 Bitcoins, valued at approximately $4.347 million, and has never had any outgoing Bitcoin transactions since its creation.
This transaction, needless to say, immediately triggered intense discussions within the Bitcoin community. While there have been many small amounts of Bitcoin sent to Satoshi Nakamoto's wallet over the years, this 27 BTC transaction is the largest, breaking the previous record of 4 Bitcoins in 2013. People are now speculating whether Satoshi Nakamoto is about to awaken.
Conor, a Coinbase executive, expressed on social media that if this isn't Satoshi Nakamoto waking up, it might be someone choosing to transfer over $1 million worth of Bitcoin to Satoshi Nakamoto's wallet and then destroying it. Another speculation is that this might be part of some strange Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) marketing plan.
Community discussions abound regarding this transaction, and everyone is curious about the mysterious individual who boldly transferred 27 Bitcoins into Satoshi Nakamoto's wallet—could it be Satoshi Nakamoto himself? |
