Star batsman Virat Kohli of Team India will not be available for the opening Twenty20 International (T20I) match against Afghanistan on January 11. The three-match series saw the batting stalwart make his eagerly anticipated return to the T20I squad. Head coach Rahul Dravid confirmed the player's absence from the match on Wednesday at a pre-match press conference, citing personal reasons. Kohli's most recent T20I match was in the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals versus England. In addition to the 35-year-old batter, Rohit Sharma was also added back to the team, and he will likely captain it in the first game at Mohali.
