1.Crystal Palace vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
These two teams can be considered as having the weakest attack in the Premier League this season, and both have had a less than ideal start to the season. Therefore, the intensity of this match may not be very high. However, in order to secure as many points as possible, both teams will likely be cautious and aim to take home points. Personally, I believe there won't be many goals in this match due to the weak attacking capabilities of both teams and their cautious approach. The handicap is Crystal Palace -0.5, but I think playing the under (betting on a low-scoring match) might be a better choice. My prediction is a 1-0 victory for Crystal Palace.
2.Liverpool vs. Aston Villa
Aston Villa may seem unremarkable, but they are a team to be reckoned with this season. Apart from the peculiar 5-1 defeat against Newcastle in the first round (which was a bit odd), their overall strength is in the upper-middle tier of the Premier League. As for Liverpool, their home ground is known for having a strong home advantage. In their previous match, they had a player sent off after 20 minutes but managed to come from behind and defeat the strong Newcastle side. Given that both teams tend to play open and attacking football, I believe this match will turn into a high-scoring battle. Currently, the handicap is Liverpool -1, but similar to the previous match, I recommend betting on the over (expecting a high-scoring game). The probability of many goals being scored in this match is quite high. My blind guess is that Liverpool will win 4-2 against Aston Villa.
*The predicted winning teams for both matches were accurate. |
