Did you all see FC Barcelona's summer transfer window? It was quite an exciting night, to say the least!
On September 2nd, the transfer window for the major European leagues was about to close, and for Barcelona, the previous night was like a thrilling sprint. They delivered a perfect performance in the end!
Let's talk about Barcelona's moves on this closing night! They really impressed everyone. They secured the loan signing of João Félix from Atlético Madrid, and what's special about this deal is that there was reportedly no loan fee involved! Barcelona not only covered João Félix's wages but also managed to negotiate a salary reduction. It's like a dream come true.
They also secured the loan signing of Cancelo from Manchester City, and here again, no loan fee was involved. Cancelo, the Portuguese right-back, agreed to a 30% salary reduction to join Barcelona. These two signings, believe it or not, cost Barcelona absolutely nothing!
This significantly boosted Barcelona's strength, especially with Cancelo's arrival, strengthening the right-back position. Sergi Roberto can now comfortably sit on the bench, watching how Cancelo performs on the wing.
But the action didn't stop there; Barcelona also made some quick sales. Winger Abde joined Real Betis for a transfer fee of 7.5 million euros, and Barcelona retains a 50% share of any future transfer fees for the player. It's like hitting two birds with one stone!
In addition, Ansu Fati was sent to Brighton, with 80% of his salary covered by Brighton. Eric García went on loan to Girona, and Langlais went on loan to Aston Villa. So, in just one night, Barcelona said goodbye to 4 players.
With 2 in and 4 out, Barcelona even made a net profit of 7.5 million euros! What fans are most concerned about is whether these new arrivals have been registered. According to La Liga's official website, both João Félix and Cancelo have been successfully registered, which means they will be able to make their debut for Barcelona very soon!
We also have some good news; the summer signing, central defender Iñigo Martínez, was registered on the final day of the transfer window! And the contract renewal of the young talent, Balde, has also been completed. He has officially become a member of Barcelona's first team and changed his shirt number from 28 to 3.
Now, Barcelona's first-team squad has reached 25 players, meeting Coach Xavi's requirements!!! Do you know that during this closing night, the club was bustling with activity? Deliveries of pizza, sushi, and other meals were sent to the offices, and it was a busy scene.
This summer window, Barcelona once again underwent a major rebuild, bidding farewell to some old players and welcoming new talents. The new season's Barcelona is something we can look forward to!
So, are you all ready to welcome this hopeful new season? |
