In March 2023, the wicketkeeper played his final Test match against the West Indies. He finished the series with a high score of 20, making 17 and 14 runs across four innings. After a four-year hiatus, Klaasen was selected for the Australian series in January, but he was unable to make much of an impression with scores of 35 and 20 in Sydney. In 2019, Klaasen played in his first Test match in Ranchi against India; however, after scoring just 11 runs, he was left off the squad. At an average of 13, he finishes his Test career with 104 runs.
