Following its exclusion from the mega-event in 1990, cricket will now be included in the 2028 Los Angeles games, according to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during its session in Mumbai. The IOC formally approved the addition of cricket (T20), baseball/softball, flag football, lacrosse (sixes), and squash as new sports to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics during a press conference on October 16. According to IOC President Thomas Bach, two IOC members voted against it and one did not cast a ballot.
