After defeating Zimbabwe in the ODI series, Sri Lanka will now try to perform better when they play them in three T20Is. Since April of last year, Sri Lanka has not participated in a T20I match. They had a bilateral tour with New Zealand. They defeated the Kiwis in back-to-back games after winning the super-over match in the first game of that series. In Sri Lanka's most recent Twenty20 International match, New Zealand prevailed by four wickets. After New Zealand won the toss and Sri Lanka chose to bat first, the match got underway. After losing six wickets, the team managed to score 182 runs thanks to a 73-run innings from Kusal Mendis.
