India continued their preparation for the tournament in South Africa with a tri-series against the hosts and Afghanistan following their appearance in the semi-finals of the ACC U19 Asia Cup. With Uday Saharan leading the way with 112 against the Proteas in the series finale, they won handily. In their formal warm-up match against Australia, Saharan scored the highest as well (74). At the Asia Cup, Arshi Kulkarni led the team in runs scored, and in the ACC U19 Asia Cup, Raj Limbani caused a stir by taking 7/13 (9.1) against Nepal. During the tri-series, vice captain Saumy Pandey led the team in wickets taken (6/29 against Afghanistan).
