The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a humiliating exit as the eighth seed, and Coach Budenholzer received a dismissal letter from the Bucks the day after his brother's tragic car accident. The contract extension for their star player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, is currently on hold. The Bucks will face significant challenges next season, as numerous teams have expressed interest in Giannis, and the Bucks are now facing the decision of either trading Giannis to rebuild or building around him.
Currently, two teams have expressed interest in Giannis: the Portland Trail Blazers and the New York Knicks. Let's start with the Trail Blazers. Portland's star player, Damian Lillard, openly welcomed Giannis to join their team and even shared photos of both of them wearing Trail Blazers jerseys. After Lillard's public invitation, the media began to speculate that this trade could be possible. In order to acquire Giannis, the Trail Blazers are willing to offer Simmons, Nurkic, Covington, their first-round picks in 2023, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030 as part of a 9-for-1 deal. This is virtually all the assets that the Trail Blazers currently have, and Simmons and Nurkic are both essential role players for them.
