What would a crypto version of Uber look like?

We might all be familiar with Uber, a network for buying and selling car services. The company that develops and maintains this network plays a crucial role. To assume this role, the centralized entity can extract significant rents from the network. Does this make sense? Certainly; without the efforts and investments of this entity, the network wouldn't be as popular. What if there was a way to expand the network without an intermediary extracting rents? Leaving more value to be captured by the participants in the network. This is where crypto networks come into play.
