The PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) has decided to relax its regulations regarding sports betting sponsorships.
Players are now allowed to be sponsored by betting companies, permitting logos to appear on their uniforms, and this regulation is now in effect.
This revision applies only to established casino companies, not those solely focused on sports betting. Companies like William Hill and Bet365, purely dedicated to sports betting, will not be allowed to sponsor players.
Andy Levinson, Senior Vice President of the PGA Tour, stated, "Considering public perceptions of sports betting and updating these policies to align with public sentiment, we believe it is time to examine our policies."
Sponsorships with casinos and daily fantasy sports companies are typically allowed. Any relationship must promote responsible betting and align with the tour's integrity efforts. |
