When Jasprit Bumrah takes the field against England in Hyderabad on Thursday, it will be his first Test match in India since March 2022. This will be his eleventh Test match against England, and the last time he played them, Bumrah led the Indian team as captain. With regular captain Rohit Sharma suffering from Covid-19, the Indian Test team's ace fast bowler, who also serves as vice captain, captained the team in the fifth Test at Edgbaston, which was postponed.
