It's almost hard to replace Virat Kohli, especially in Test cricket, let's face it. Who could make batting appear so simple, even in the most difficult circumstances? Who would confront the opposition and look them in the eye until they averted their gaze? Who would constantly make the opposition think twice? Who would impart the same belief that India is still in the game as long as Kohli is around? The Indian team management, led by captain Rohit Sharma, and the selectors will need to respond to those queries quickly. The first two Tests against England won't feature Kohli. For personal reasons, the all-star batter made the decision to withdraw. A replacement will be named, according to BCCI.
