News on January 28th: Today, the Lakers narrowly defeated the Warriors 145-144 in double overtime, securing a two-game winning streak. After the game, Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell was interviewed.
Speaking about his feelings assisting LeBron James on the court, Russell said, "At some point, they are going to play good defense, and that's when other players need to make shots. I have to get into the rhythm of the game and take those shot opportunities if they come to me. So, I just always have that confidence. I know he's going to take on a heavy responsibility – hitting key shots, making key defensive plays, grabbing key rebounds, making key plays. He's going to do all of that, so any leftovers, I'm hungry for. So, I'm just working hard to continue to support him, it's as simple as that."
In this game, Russell played for 49 minutes, made 8 out of 19 field goals, and scored 28 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists. |
