Glenn Maxwell, the Aussie all-rounder, made headlines recently when he had to be rushed to the hospital after a night out with his mates. He had a nasty fall at the pub and was quite ashamed of the whole ordeal. His former captain and friend Aaron Finch came out in support of him and said that he was doing fine while attending a promotional event in Melbourne. He admitted that it was a bad time for Maxwell to face this situation but he had a strong support system around him.
"His spirits are high. It was a tough situation for him and not the best timing, but he has a close network of people who helped him a lot and I think he also used this time to reflect on things," Finch said about Maxwell.
Finch also praised Maxwell's form in the last few years and attributed it to his physical fitness. He said that Maxwell had been performing at his peak on the field because he had taken care of his body. He also mentioned the unfortunate broken leg that Maxwell suffered and said that he expected him to continue his brilliance in the coming years.
"Maxwell has been amazing on the field in the last three years or so. That's because he has kept his body in shape. The broken leg was a setback for him, but I'm sure he will bounce back and keep showing his best," Finch added.
Maxwell had a stellar year in 2023 for Australia, playing a vital role in the ODI World Cup where he scored a record-breaking 201* against Afghanistan despite battling severe cramps. He also hit his fourth T20 hundred against India in the T20s series that preceded the World Cup. He is set to return to action for Australia in the T20s  series against West Indies and will be keen to prove himself again.
