Why does Starc prefer Test cricket and family over IPL despite the big money?

Starc, the Aussie speedster, has declared that Test cricket is his main focus even after securing a big contract in the IPL 2024 mini-auction. He said that he always valued Test cricket and international cricket more than anything else and that it was difficult enough to balance one schedule, let alone two schedules [his wife Alyssa’s career] in the relationship. He said that he used his time off from cricket to spend with Alyssa or his family and to rejuvenate his body to be as fit and ready for Australian cricket. He said that red-ball cricket was still his top priority and that his body would probably tell him to quit Test cricket before he wanted to, as reported by The Sydney Morning Herald.

What a selfless player he is! , nowadays when other players are running behind these big leagues he wants to devote his time to international cricket despite getting big money in these leagues. A big salute to him

I think leagues like IPL are not good for Test cricket because fans are losing their interest in the longest format of cricket.
